Beautiful vintage 1950's genuine lizard handbag by Vassar. Vassar is known for selling luxury genuine reptile skin handbags from the 1920-1960 in the USA.
About this bag:
This handbag is a warm brown color and measures a large 14"Wx9"Hx4"D. Single handle is 6 inches above the frame. The handbag has goldtone hardware and feet. Top clasp is tight and hinges operate smoothly. The interior has one zippered pocket and one open one. Hard shell stands firmly on its own.
Condition:
The exterior is in excellent condition, including the bottom corners. The handle has some cracking on one side and a pen mark as shown in last photo.
At the locking mechanism and on metal feet there is some wear consistant with age/use. When opened fully, the bag feels a bit stiff also consistant with age.
My notes:
I have searched online and can not find an excact match to this handbag. There are others that are different sizes, shapes, and materials but none exactly like this!
